Denzel Curry, personal name “Denzel Rae Don Curry”, was born and raised in Miami Gardens, Florida, USA. He began rapping in the sixth grade and at this early age started working on his first mixtape.

He was most influenced by the Florida underground scene, specifically a rapper who calls himself “SpaceGhostPurrp”.

Curry was also later featured on an album by this rapper, who also shared it on social media, making him a staple in the Florida scene. This also ended up resulting in Denzel Curry joining the hip hop group of rapper SpaceGhostPurrp, which was called “Raider Clan”.
